Richard J. Alfera

Richard Alfera is president of Goff Backa Alfera & Company, LLC, and managing partner of daily operations. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a tax consultant for Deloitte & Touche and subsequently served as senior accountant for Rockwell and acted as a tax manager of a Rockwell subsidiary.

Among other professional teaching and training responsibilities, Alfera has taught national tax training seminars.  He has a master’s degree in taxation from Robert Morris College and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Duquesne University and has received the Personal Financial Planning Specialist (PFS) designation from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Alfera also holds Series 7 and 66 securities licenses as well as an insurance license. He focuses on client education through Wealth Management Advisory Group, Inc., an affiliated entity of his firm.

He is past president of both the Northern Allegheny County Chamber of Commerce and the South Hills Chamber of Commerce. He is currently serving as Treasurer and member of the board of directors of the South Hills Chamber of Commerce.  He is also a member of the Tax and Financial Planning Sections of the AICPA and a member of the Pennsylvania and Ohio certified public accountant associations. Alfera serves as chairman of the finance/audit committee and member of the board of directors of the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf.  He is a member of the North American Tang Soo Do Karate Association and coaches youth soccer.
